Biography
Max Luciani, nato a Fermo il 4 Agosto del 1980.
Il mio amore per la musica è stato agevolato dal fatto che i miei genitori portano avanti fin dal 1986 un negozio di dischi a Porto San Giorgio, Amadeus, e che mio zio è proprietario di un storico e grande negozio di strumenti musicali.
All'età di 11 anni ho iniziato a studiare pianoforte nella scuola popolare di musica di Fermo, Tam, e contemporaneamente, a suonare la chitarra, da autodidatta,
In questa scuola, dove sono passato quasi subito alla chitarra, sono stato dal 1991 al 1998, ed ho avuto tra gli altri, come insegnante, il bravo chitarrista Walter Vincenti.
Nel periodo1998-2001, ho fatto parte per circa 3 anni come chitarrista del gruppo demenziale Inseminator.
Nel 2000 ho dato vita con mio cugino Stefano Luciani al gruppo “No Name Blues Band”, dove ero chitarrista solista e cantante. Nella sua breve esperienza, il gruppo ha collaborato con il cabarettista PieroMassimo Macchini, in arte Dolly Bomba, dando vita allo spettacolo comico musicale chiamato “I Giochi Da Tavola”.
Sempre con lo stesso gruppo, “No name blues band”anche se in formazione ridotta, ho compiuto un breve tour in Marocco, suonando nei carceri minorili di Rabat, Casablanca e Marrakech.
Dal 1999 al 2003, ho preso lezioni private dal chitarrista di Macerata Giuseppe Petrucci, detto Peppe Hendrix, apprendendo le tecniche e i fraseggi tipici soprattutto del blues di Stevie Ray Vaughan e Jimi Hendrix.
Nell'Aprile 2003, ho partecipato presso la scuola popolare di musica Tam, ad un seminario condotto da Scott Henderson.
Nel Febbraio 2004, sempre presso la stessa scuola di musica, ho partecipato ad un seminario di Mauro Pagani, che si è concluso con un concerto, presso il teatro comunale di Porto San Giorgio, dove ho condiviso il palco oltre che con lo stesso musicista, anche con Matti Norlin, Ellade Bandini, Giulio Proietti, Frank Ricci, e molti altri...
Nel Novembre 2004, ancora presso Tam, ho partecipato al Laboratorio di improvvisazione, diretto dal pianista jazz Gaetano Liquori.
Nel 2006, all'età di 26 anni, ho fondato la “Max Luciani Blues Band” con Glauco Di Sabatino alla batteria, Walter Monini al basso e Paolo Berluti all'organo Hammond.
Dai 28 fino ai 35 anni ho fondato diverse blues band, tutte contenenti il nome Max Luciani.
Significativa la permanenza a Londra, per lavoro, nell'anno 2014. Qui ho approfondito lo studio della chitarra acustica e dell'armonica a bocca , ed ho iniziato ad esibirmi per strada, come busker. Anche in Italia mi sono esibito come One Man Band, sotto il nome di Max Lucky Blues.
Negli anni 2015-2016 Ho preso alcune lezioni private presso il chitarrista Frank Ricci a Corridonia.
Nel 2016 ho realizzato il mio primo homemade album, dal titolo “Apocalictic World is Cooming Soon”, completamente realizzato da solo.
Dal 2017 in poi mi sono recato spesso a Milano, per lavoro, come tecnico luci In questa città ho ripreso la mia attività di busker.
Nelle stagioni estive, oltre ad una collaborazione saltuaria con Jonathan e i Frekantò, ho seguitato ad esibirmi, sempre nel Fermano, con una nuova formazione, che oltre me, chitarra solista e voce, comprendeva Valerio Ricci al basso, Fred Portelli alla batteria e Michele Mezzanotte alla chitarra.
Nel Giugno 2019 ho partecipato al Pistoia Blues Clinics sotto la guida del musicista Massimo Moriconi, organizzato dalla scuola di musica T. Mabellini.
Ora, Ottobre 2020, sto incidendo il mio primo disco in studio. Oltre ai musicisti dell'ultimo periodo, c'è il ritorno di Paolo Berluti all’Hammond, e l'aggiunta di due validi cantanti: Alessandra Doria e Domenico Marras. Una vera e propria Super Band, per un album dalle decise influenze Blues, ma cantato completamente in Italiano.

My love for music has been facilitated by the fact that my parents have been running a record shop in Porto San Giorgio, Amadeus, since 1986, and that my uncle is the owner of a historic and large musical instrument shop. At the age of 11 I started studying piano in the folk music school of Fermo, Tam, and at the same time, playing the guitar, self-taught, In this school, where I almost immediately switched to the guitar, I was from 1991 to 1998, and I had, among others, the good guitarist Walter Vincenti as a teacher. In the period 1998-2001, I was part of the inseminator group Inseminator for about 3 years. In 2000 I started with my cousin Stefano Luciani the group “No Name Blues Band”, where I was lead guitarist and singer. In his brief experience, the group collaborated with the stand-up comedian PieroMassimo Macchini, aka Dolly Bomba, giving life to the musical comedy show called “The Table Games”. Still with the same group, “No name blues band” even if in a reduced formation, I made a short tour in Morocco, playing in the juvenile prisons of Rabat, Casablanca and Marrakech. From 1999 to 2003, I took private lessons from the Macerata guitarist Giuseppe Petrucci, known as Peppe Hendrix, learning the techniques and phrasing typical especially of the blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. In April 2003, I attended a seminar conducted by Scott Henderson at the Tam Popular Music School. In February 2004, again at the same music school, I participated in a seminar by Mauro Pagani, which ended with a concert, at the municipal theater of Porto San Giorgio, where I shared the stage as well as with the musician himself, also with Matti Norlin, Ellade Bandini, Giulio Proietti, Frank Ricci, and many others ... In November 2004, still at Tam, I participated in the improvisation workshop, directed by the jazz pianist Gaetano Liquori. In 2006, at the age of 26, I founded the “Max Luciani Blues Band” with Glauco Di Sabatino on drums, Walter Monini on bass and Paolo Berluti on Hammond organ. From 28 to 35 I founded several blues bands, all containing the name Max Luciani. The stay in London for work in 2014 was significant. Here I deepened the study of acoustic guitar and harmonica, and I started performing on the street, as a busker. Also in Italy I performed as One Man Band, under the name of Max Lucky Blues. In the years 2015-2016 I took some private lessons with the guitarist Frank Ricci in Corridonia. In 2016 I made my first homemade album, entitled “Apocalictic World is Cooming Soon”, completely made by myself. From 2017 onwards I often went to Milan, for work, as a lighting technician. In this city I resumed my activity as a busker. In the summer seasons, in addition to an occasional collaboration with Jonathan and Frekantò, I continued to perform, always in Fermano, with a new line-up, which besides me, lead guitar and voice, included Valerio Ricci on bass, Fred Portelli on drums and Michele Mezzanotte on the guitar. In June 2019 I participated in the Pistoia Blues Clinics under the guidance of the musician Massimo Moriconi, organized by the music school T. Mabellini. Now, October 2020, I'm making my first studio record. In addition to the musicians of the last period, there is the return of Paolo Berluti to the Hammond, and the addition of two valid singers: Alessandra Doria and Domenico Marras. A real Super Band, for an album with strong Blues influences, but sung completely in Italian.
